This US Mint American Silver Eagle is the final West Point Mint Eagle to feature the original John Mercanti Silver reverse design. This 2021 Silver Eagle is made from 1 troy oz of. Furthermore, it has been graded a perfect MS 70 with the First Day of Issue designation by PCGS.

The American Eagle bullion coin series began in 1986, drawing its name from the Mercanti reverse design. The 1986 original American Eagles design was a reimagining of the silver half dollar from the 1900s. However, for the upcoming 35th anniversary, the US Mint has chosen a new reverse design for the American Gold and Silver Eagles that will be released later in 2021.

This means the obverse and reverse images of this coin remain the same, making this the last new Silver Eagle coin from the West Point Mint to ever feature the original John Mercanti reverse. Obverse: Features a full-length image of Lady Liberty walking with outstretched hands towards the rising sun with her gown and the draped flag billowing around her. She holds oak and laurel branches in one hand to symbolize peace and strength.

Inscriptions: "IN GOD WE TRUST, " "LIBERTY, " and the year of mintage. Reverse: Bears the US national Coat of Arms with a bald eagle carrying an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Thirteen stars are positioned above the eagle that wears a shield with the US flag on its chest.

Inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", "1 OZ", "FINE SILVER", and "ONE DOLLAR".
